Everyone likes to look their best, that is understandable.  Your personal appearance says something about who you are, your personal pride, and often can make or break an important business transaction or even ruin a vital client connection.  This is why people try the best to always 'look the part' or in my case (LOL), 'not look the part.'  Because what we wear, how we style our hair, the things we put on our bodies, represent a little bit about our selves for everyone to see.

But when you are at a Fashion Show, along with 60 other people, where lag is substantially handicapping your experience, and you are surrounded by people most wearing in excess of 2500 prims (some as many as 7000 prims) the only statement these people are making about themselves is that they are selfish.  Selfish to the point that they are basically giving those poor Models on the runway a big middle finger.  Selfish to the point that they are basically giving me the finger too.  And that I do not find cause to giggle at.

Vanity is one thing.  Be as vain as your little bling bling heart desires when you are out and about.  Wear your 1400 prim count hair like it's cool.  Float around in your 3000 prim gown like you are the Belle of the Ball.  And bling the hell out of anyone who comes your way.  No big deal there.

But what is a big deal is when you are at a Fashion Show wearing your 7000 prims and creating so much personal lag that everyone around you can't see anything but massive gray blobs floating by them.  Oh and by the way, you are one big gray blob to them too.  So all your vanity and selfishness is doing you a huge disservice.  'Cause no one can see just how beautiful or handsome you are. You are just one more blob that they have to cam over in order to see the Fashions on the runway (that they came to see in the first place.)

Yes, I know who you are. And though you may think it is funny now, just wait until it is your turn on that runway and everyone does it right back to you.  Then how will you feel?  You won't feel anything, because you will most likely be too busy crapping your gown or pants trying to stay steady on a hellish runway of lag.  Karma is a trollope, isn't she?

My actions are not everone's I realize that.  I know very few people, like me, who have only minute hints of vanity.  I am usually the first one at a Fashion Show to take off my hair, my jewelry, my shoes until I get down to about 200 prims.  My personal contribution to the already intense lag is miniscule compared to some other cheese puffs who insist that they can't take off their 2000 prim necklace (which no one can see anyways). Yes, I know most people will not go as extreme as I will to help out the Models in the show.  But every little thing you take off helps!  Even if it is just your 10 Huds or your jewelry - it helps.

I mean come on people, come back down to Earth!  You are there to see a fashion show!  For 30 minutes you can take off the HUDS, the bling, the high prim articles and just chill.  As soon as the show is over, put all your things back on (and if you are smart you will already have a folder for them so putting them back on will take 2 seconds).

But I guess until more people stop being selfish, vain, and grow a sense of comraderie and compassion, the rest of us (including the Models who are there for YOU) will just have to endure the lag or else just upgrade our systems to have better graphics cards (which of course we all have an extra 200 bucks laying around all the time).  Oh well.....these fashion shows could be even better than what they are, but some folks just don't get it.  Do you?
