Here is the description of it:

"Since 1961 CUSO has placed over 11,000 Canadian and other volunteer-cooperants in over 30 countries, where they have worked in health, social services, education, business, agriculture and many other fields.

We are the Second Life Dance for the World team - a virtual group working in a virtual world, but for a very REAL cause!"

And I would like to share it with you because we are trying to do something in second life for a better real life.

Greetings from CUSO, one of Canada’s largest and oldest volunteer-sending agencies!  (If you are not acquainted with CUSO, please allow me to direct you to www.cuso.org)

I am currently coordinating a national fundraising campaign for this charitable organization entitled “Dance for the World” and am excited about sharing this fun event with you!
 
This is a RL charity fundraising event that is expanding into SL, rather like what the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life did. CUSO's "Dance for the World" in SL will be hosted by the Metaverse Messenger.

This event will be taking place both in Reality and in Second Life on Friday, November 9, 2007.

At this time, we are currently looking for the following in order to make this event a success:

1. Location(s) to host our in-world event (I.e. Club, Whole Sim, Park);

2. Sponsors (For X amount of L$, you will receive some wonderful benefits - please contact Rubianne Ellison if you are interested in this option);

3. Partners (Who will be willing to fundraise on our behalf, collect in-world donations and participate in the events. Once again, please contact Rubianne Ellison if you are interested in this option);

4. Dancers (People to attend the events, offer their support, and participate in the silent/live auctions);

5. DJ's/Musicians (To perform at the event(s) and keep the crowds entertained);

6. Volunteers (To help us with the in-world organization and coordination).
